Music is in us all.
Hearing someone sing, someone who can use their voice to tell all the things that can be felt, perhaps a soft song, or a magical lilting song, one that dances like a lace doily in memories of expectations, that is special.
Drawing air past the moment and making it into a path that did not exist a moment ago.
Hearing a recording of the best the world has to offer – well, that is why recording stars are famous and rich. But to hear someone in person, someone talented, sing from their heart, it can move you in ways nothing else can, and leave a memory from that moment stretching across your whole life.
Put aside the social atmosphere, the staging, or the crowd, just hear the song.
Go listen to talented people sing. Do it often. Take a friend so you can talk about it later.
Or . . . just sing.
